Hear Yvonne Taylor explain how Amendment W is a threat to every public employee in South Dakota whether they work for the state, county, city or at the local public swimming pool and skating rink.

#9 Reason – Amendment W is Wrong
Revokes reforms already passed
Adds more government and costs $389,000 + Annually
#8 REASON - AMENDMENT W IS WRONG
On this day, which marks the eighth weekday left before Election Day, we look at a much larger number: 3,329. That's how many words are used in Amendment W, which goes way too far in trying to supersede our South Dakota Constitution. Amendment W is too long, too confusing and too risky. Vote No on Nov. 6.
#7 Reason – Amendment W is Wrong
Today the focus is on money – a great deal of money.
Amendment W puts into the State Constitution that the unelected tribunal will get $389,000, plus inflation, each and every year. No review by the legislature, no possible veto by the Governor – a direct allocation mandated by the Constitution.
The Legislature created the State Government Accountability Board in response to the passage of IM-22. It oversees the entire executive branch and operates with less than a tenth of the money arbitrarily demanded by Amendment W. No other state gives money to an ethics board without checks and balances.
This money would be much better spent on schools or law enforcement. Another reason that "W is Wrong"
#6 Reason – Amendment W is Wrong
It cannot be said enough – Amendment W claims to override EVERYTHING else in the constitution when it comes to ten areas of law, including not only ethics but contracts between private businesses and every level of government, oversight of conflicts of interest and campaign finance laws.
#5 REASON – AMENDMENT W IS WRONG
#4 Reason – Amendment W is Wrong
With just four workdays left before Election Day, Michael Held, retired executive director of the South Dakota Farm Bureau, talks about how Amendment W's ethics tribunal would be given way too much power and its members would be picked not by voters but a few select public officials.
Facts about the unelected ethics tribunal
#3 Reason – Amendment W is Wrong
With just three weekdays left before Election Day, there's plenty of time to join the growing coalition of 41 South Dakota organizations opposing Amendment W. Reject this effort by a Massachusetts group to change the South Dakota Constitution.
#2 Reason – Amendment W is Wrong
With just two weekdays before Election Day, we invite you to guess how many of the 2,313 individual contributions to the group backing Amendment W actually came from South Dakota addresses. (Hint: It's ridiculously small.) Let's keep the South Dakota Constitution in South Dakota hands.
